Swedish text-to-video platform Storykit is set to transform the way businesses create video content with the launch of its new API, which allows users to produce videos without needing to log in. This innovative tool aims to streamline video creation for enterprises worldwide, empowering employees to generate content from within their existing workflows.

Peder Bonnier, CEO of Storykit, expressed enthusiasm for the new development, stating, “With the Storykit API, we’re helping large companies enable every employee to create videos from the tools they’re already working in.” This integration means that Storykit’s video capabilities can be embedded directly into platforms already in use by organisations, such as content management systems (CMS), applicant tracking systems (ATS), and collaboration tools like Slack.

The API has garnered particular interest from NTM, a Swedish local media group operating 18 news outlets that collectively reach over 700,000 Swedes daily. As the media landscape increasingly shifts towards video content on social media and local news websites, NTM has recognised the necessity of incorporating video into its publishing strategy. However, the challenge of producing videos at scale proved daunting, especially given that training all 320 reporters to create video content was not feasible.

Jörgen Bröms, AI Strategy & Editorial Developer at NTM, praised the Storykit API’s impact, saying, “Integrating Storykit’s functionality into our publishing tool has eliminated all thresholds for journalists to create videos. It’s amazing—there’s no way the editorial teams could produce such a large volume of videos manually.” The API has simplified the video creation process, allowing reporters to focus on storytelling rather than technical hurdles.

By implementing clear guidelines within the system, NTM can maintain control over the output, ensuring consistency in everything from scripting to video aesthetics. Bröms added, “The time saved and the simplicity is groundbreaking. This enables all our reporters to create video at scale.”

The rollout of the Storykit integration is currently underway, with plans to gradually introduce the new features to all 320 reporters at NTM.
