The Marrakech Air Show 2024, a leading event on the global aviation industry calendar, is set to take place from 30 October to 2 November at Morocco’s Royal Air Force Training Base. This year’s edition, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, marks the seventh instalment of the show, highlighting Morocco’s growing role in the international aerospace sector.
With 12,500 square metres of exhibition space, the Marrakech Air Show (MAS) expects over 200 exhibitors and 50 official delegations from around the world, bringing together prominent figures from the aeronautics, defence, and aerospace industries. Notable companies such as Airbus, Embraer, Heliconia, Tata Advanced Systems, Lockheed Martin, and China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC) are among the attendees, who will showcase their latest technologies and explore strategic partnerships.
The show’s organisers—the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade, the National Defence Administration, and MEDZ, a subsidiary of Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion—aim to promote Morocco as a key player in aeronautics and to foster business opportunities in the sector.
Industry Leaders and Decision Makers in Attendance
The event will feature a host of high-profile industry leaders, including Mr Wouter Van Wersch, Executive Vice-President of Airbus International; Mr Tom Gentil, President of Hexcel; Mr Stéphane Burton, CEO of Orizio Group; Mr Laurent Bouyer, Vice-President of Global Operations at Pratt & Whitney; Dr Chaouki Kasmi, President of Technology and Innovation at EDGE; and Thomas Corbel, CEO of Le Piston Français Group. These executives are expected to engage in high-level discussions and consider future collaborations within the industry.
MAS 2024 will also offer an extensive programme of B2B meetings aimed at fostering partnerships, exploring new markets, and concluding commercial agreements. The show’s status as a networking hub will facilitate a unique platform for representatives across the aerospace ecosystem to connect and discuss the sector’s future.
Focus on Technological Innovation and Sustainability
This year’s show will spotlight technological advances in aerospace, particularly through the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies. Artificial intelligence and robotics in production will be key topics, and MAS will also feature local start-ups developing innovative solutions to address the industry’s challenges. A significant focus will be placed on Morocco’s contributions, particularly in developing alternative fuels and low-carbon technology, in alignment with its environmental commitments.
MAS 2024 will also host a dedicated day for discussions around human capital. Workshops and panels will address the role of skilled labour and engineering expertise in aerospace, providing a forum for students from Moroccan engineering schools and universities to exchange views with industry leaders and experts.
With a mix of innovation, collaboration, and sustainability at its core, MAS 2024 aims to position Morocco as a growing player in the global aerospace landscape while connecting industry leaders to discuss the future of aeronautics and defence.
