OMRON Healthcare Co., Ltd., based in Muko, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan, has announced its participation and sponsorship of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress 2024, set to take place in London from August 30 to September 2. The congress will see OMRON unveil its latest innovation, the “OMRON M7 Intelli IT AFib,” a cutting-edge blood pressure monitor designed to detect potential Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) with each measurement.

The new OMRON M7 Intelli IT AFib aims to make early detection of AFib more accessible, enhancing home blood pressure monitoring by incorporating AFib screening capabilities. Early detection is crucial, as AFib is a significant risk factor for stroke and heart failure. OMRON’s initiative is part of a broader effort to improve heart health by providing effective tools for early diagnosis.

On September 1, OMRON will sponsor a Satellite Symposium titled “Screening for AFib and Hypertension: Time to Act Now.” The symposium will highlight the importance of early AFib detection and feature findings from a recent clinical trial on AFib risks among hypertensive patients. Notable speakers, including Professor Ben Freedman from the University of Sydney, will present research on new technologies for early AFib detection and discuss the impact of hypertension on AFib risk.

Prior to the congress, the second annual meeting of the AF Screen International Collaboration will be held on August 29, 2024. This gathering, involving over 200 researchers from 40 countries, will focus on advancing AFib detection methods to mitigate stroke risk. OMRON supports this initiative through an unrestricted educational grant.

The ESC Congress 2024, organised by the European Society of Cardiology, will focus on “Personalizing Cardiovascular Care,” aiming to improve patient outcomes through tailored treatments. The event will bring together global professionals to share the latest research and clinical trials on cardiovascular disease.

OMRON Healthcare’s commitment to “Zero cerebro-cardiovascular events” drives its development of advanced devices and services for early AFib detection. With a focus on increasing accessibility to blood pressure monitoring and ECG recording, OMRON continues to support clinical research and global medical initiatives. The company’s efforts are geared towards enhancing health outcomes and empowering individuals worldwide to lead healthier lives.
