TCL, a leading name in smart televisions, has announced the launch of a dedicated Mr Bean: The Animated Series FAST (Free Advertising Supported Streaming Television) channel on its TCL Channel platform. This new channel, available on TCL smart TVs, will feature seasons 1 to 3 of the popular animated series, reaching an estimated 24 million users across North America, Latin America, and Europe.

The deal with Banijay Rights, the global distribution arm of Banijay Entertainment, marks a significant expansion for TCL’s streaming service. The Mr Bean animated series, which debuted in 2002 and is produced by Tiger Aspect Kids & Family, continues the legacy of the original live-action Mr Bean series created by Rowan Atkinson and Richard Curtis. The live-action show, which aired from 1990 to 1995, remains a beloved staple of British comedy.

In January 2024, it was announced that a fourth season of Mr Bean: The Animated Series will be produced by Tiger Aspect Kids & Family, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery and ITVX. This new season will be available on Cartoonito and HBO Max across EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa), Warner Bros. Discovery’s kids channels and streaming services in Southeast Asia and South Asia, and ITVX Kids in the UK and Ireland from 2025. Rowan Atkinson will continue to be involved as executive producer and voice actor.

Rebecca Wan, Head of Business Development at TCL FFalcon, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to partner with Banijay Rights and offer our users access to the iconic Mr Bean series. This partnership reinforces our dedication to delivering high-quality and diverse content to our audience. It also provides an excellent opportunity for our advertising clients to engage with a wider audience through targeted advertising solutions on TCL Channel.”

Shaun Keeble, VP Digital at Banijay Rights, added, “We are delighted to work with TCL to bring Mr Bean into the FAST space. This expansion is a significant step in enhancing the global presence of the Mr Bean brand and the animated series.”

TCL’s commitment to enriching its streaming platforms extends beyond Mr Bean. The company has also introduced new content such as Dia TV, the first YouTuber channel on TV in Brazil, and is set to launch ReelShort, a short drama channel, in August. TCL FFalcon aims to continue offering a diverse range of engaging entertainment options to its viewers.
