Ormer Mayfair by Sofian, the distinguished fine dining venue within the luxury boutique hotel Flemings Mayfair, has earned its first Michelin star, according to the 2024 Great Britain & Ireland Guide.

The accolade was announced at the Michelin Guide Ceremony held in Manchester on 5th February. The Michelin Guide praised Ormer Mayfair for its “carefully constructed dishes using classic combinations, elevated by hints of originality,” as well as its “understated elegance and charming, unstuffy service.” Under the leadership of 31-year-old Executive Chef Sofian Msetfi, the restaurant is among 18 new one-star restaurants, with 11 of these located in London.

Executive Chef Sofian Msetfi expressed his gratitude, saying, “Receiving a Michelin star is a remarkable honour and a dream come true. Since joining in 2021, my team and I have dedicated ourselves to creating exceptional dishes using seasonal British produce, including ingredients from our Essex kitchen garden. I am immensely proud and thankful to my team for their hard work and dedication.”

Henrik Muehle, Managing Director of Flemings Mayfair, celebrated the achievement: “This Michelin star is a significant milestone for Ormer Mayfair and a testament to the hard work and creativity of Sofian and his team. Watching the restaurant evolve since Sofian’s appointment in 2021 has been truly rewarding. We appreciate everyone who has been part of this journey.”

Since becoming Executive Chef, Msetfi has introduced a tasting menu-only approach at Ormer Mayfair, showcasing his Michelin-starred training from renowned establishments such as Adare Manor, The Hand and Flowers, and Midsummer House. His menus, featuring a five-course tasting menu (£79pp) and a seven-course tasting menu (£115pp), highlight his commitment to British ingredients and refined dining.

Ormer Mayfair by Sofian has previously earned Four AA Rosettes and appeared in the Michelin Guide in 2022 and 2023. It has also been recognised as one of London’s top five restaurants by the Hardens Restaurant Guide and consistently ranks among the top ten fine dining venues on TripAdvisor.

The Michelin star further enhances Ormer Mayfair’s reputation, celebrated for its elegant dining room, impeccable service, and impressive wine list.
