The National Audit Office has published a follow up report into how government departments have fulfilled recommendations on effective partnership working between the government and civil society organisations (the Compact).

Compact Voice, ACEVO and NAVCA have written a joint letter to the leader of every local authority in England, reminding them once again of the value of the voluntary and community sector and of local Compact commitments, for when they make budget decisions.

After reflecting on research into perceptions and insights on the Compact, the agreement on working relations between voluntary and statutory sectors in England, Compact Voice has produced a ‘myth-buster’ article.

The Welsh Government has published a revised Third Sector Scheme, its “statement of Welsh Ministers’ intent in taking forward their relationship with the Third Sector”. It incorporates the new Code of Practice for Funding as well as how the Welsh Government works with the sector.

Compact Voice has published findings from its third annual survey of local Compacts in England, the agreements between local authorities and the voluntary sector. Despite reductions in resourcing, local support for the Compact is at its highest ever levels. At the time of publication, there are 165 local Compacts.

Compact Voice and the Office for Civil Society (in the Cabinet Office) have announced a joint action plan setting out clear activities for both to strengthen use of the Compact across government departments.
