Scottish umbrella wants views on its future

The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) is consulting members, the wider third sector and anyone else with an interest, to help it shape its future. The consultation is open for the next few months, with initial responses to be reviewed at the end of August. http://www.scvo.org.uk/drive-scvo/.

As a prelude, SCVO has converted to a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, joining over a thousand other Scottish charities.

Small charities can now register as CIOs

From Bates Wells Braithwaite weekly review: there has been confirmation from the Charity Commission that Charitable Incorporated Organisations can now be registered with incomes under five thousand pounds. Pending the website/online form being updated, “you will need to put on the form that your income is over £5,000 in order to progress . .
