N Ireland regulator gets a quick review

The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland (CCNI) is to get a quick review, the Minister for Communities in the Northern Ireland Executive announced in early August. The review will be carried out by a senior civil servant, with expert input on charity regulation and law. It will focus on CCNI’s strategic approach to regulation activities, current governance arrangements and assessing relationships across key stakeholders.

Reporting guidance for Northern Ireland charities

The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland has published new guidance for charities on their duties under the new accounting and reporting regulations.

These regulations apply to all charities registered with CCNI with a financial year starting on or after 1st January 2016, but the Commission is strongly recommending that all charitable organisations should apply them as a matter of good practice.
