Official review sees sector as integral to health and care

The largest ever review of the voluntary sector’s involvement in statutory health and social care has concluded that charities and social enterprises should be deeply involved at every level.

The final report of the VCSE Review, a joint review by the Department of Health, Public Health England and NHS England, was launched 19th May. As well as urging hospitals, commissioning groups and councils to involve expert charities in the design and delivery of services, it has recommendations for voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations.

New publications from charity regulators

The Charity Commission (England and Wales) has published a short policy paper ‘What the Charity Commission expects from trustees in its casework‘. This covers what the Commission expects when it contacts trustees or charity officers or they contact the Commission, so that issues can be resolved as quickly as possible.
