Two youth support charities, YouthNet and Get Connected, are set to merge.

Making young people welcome as charity trustees

A new guide gives advice on how charities can make young people welcome as trustees, with case studies on different ways of giving them the necessary skills.

Produced by Charities Aid Foundation, this follows on from recommendations of its Growing Giving Parliamentary Inquiry and a survey of young trustees. It also looks at challenges that can prevent young people from becoming trustees, and the benefits to organisations in overcoming these barriers.

Advice for young people on talking to the media

‘In the Headlines’ is a new resource that aims to help children and young people talk to the media positively about issues that matter to them.

The advice is based on research looking at children and young people in media stories in Northern Ireland, and has been produced by Include Youth with the support of Youth Council for Northern Ireland. From a quick look, it should apply equally well elsewhere in the UK.
