Progress on reforming small Gift Aid scheme

The Small Charitable Donations Bill, announced in the Queen’s Speech earlier this year, has now been laid before Parliament. It is expected to have its second reading debate on Tuesday 11th October.

Take early action on financial difficulties, says Charity Commission

The Charity Commission has published a set of reports as part of a wider programme to explore the financial resilience of the sector and highlight wider lessons for charities. The report launch forms the start of a campaign to communicate the wider lessons for charities.

Support to get trustees considering social investment

The trustees and committee members of charities and social enterprises are the target of a new campaign to help them understand the risks and opportunities of social investment.

The Get Informed campaign has been launched by Big Society Capital along with Association of Chairs, Honorary Treasurers Forum and Cass Centre for Charity Excellence. CFG launches small charities finance training project

Charity Finance Group has launched a Small Charities Programme to provide practical training and resources to smaller organisations across England and Wales, to support them with managing their finances.

SORP accrual accounts templates for small charities

The Charity Commission (England and Wales) has produced a template pack to help non-company charities with incomes of less than £500,000 prepare their trustees’ annual report and accruals accounts in accordance with Charities SORP FRS 102.
