Personnel professionals body CIPD has a new Employer supported volunteering’ factsheet.

The Guardian’s Voluntary Sector Network has an interesting piece ‘What makes some people more likely to volunteer than others?‘ – what makes someone give up their time for free.

New research findings on the state of volunteering in Scotland’s historic environment sector have been published. They indicate that volunteering is on the up and demonstrate the colossal economic value of the contribution of volunteers. News item from BEFS (Built Environment Forum Scotland) has links through to the full report (pdf, 3.7MB) and a summary (pdf, 252KB).

Research journal Voluntary Sector Review is making the publication free to view and read for the entire 12 days of the ‘week’. This blog article has the link, plus one of the journal editors shares his thoughts how the Review has offered a crucial space for analysis and review of the sector in the six years since it first published.
