Press and public scrutiny seen as biggest challenge

The 2016 edition of the ‘Managing in the New Normal’ survey reports has been published by the Institute of Fundraising, Charity Finance Group and PwC.

Points highlighted in the summary article include:

  • The majority of respondents reported improving their fundraising practice over the past year.
  • In contrast to previous years, where concerns about charitable giving and financial sustainability dominated, 83% of charities said that public trust around fundraising practices was the biggest challenge for the sector as it looks to the public for support.

Civil Society News coverage is headlined ‘Over half of charities experienced increase in demand for services’.

Over 300 charities were surveyed. See IoF article for more key findings and the report download (pdf, 3.5MB).
