Latest charity accounting consultation

There is a new research consultation on the charity SORP accounting standard.

“With the experience of preparing the trustees’ annual reports and accounts for 2015 under the new Charities Statement of Recommended Practice fresh in practitioners’ minds, the Charity Commission for England and Wales and the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator, who together are the SORP-making body, are seeking your views on how the SORP can be further improved.”

There is an extended consultation period, running until 11th December 2016, to allow users of charity reports and accounts and users of the SORP every opportunity to take part and share their views.

Note that this consultation focuses on the FRS102-based SORP, not the FRSSE one aimed at smaller entities.

See Charity Commission news release, Civil Society News coverage, or download the ‘Invitation to comment‘ (pdf, 261KB) f0r the details.
