Guidance for Scottish charities on reporting serious events

The Scottish charity regulator OSCR has published guidance on the reporting of Notifiable Events, a requirement which comes in from 1st April.

Part of its role in preventing problems, ‘Notifiable Events’ are concerned with when something serious has happened or is happening to a charity.

“We don’t want to know about every event, only those that threaten to have a significant impact on the charity or its assets.”

As the new regime comes in, OSCR will review the guidance and see if there are areas that need to be strengthened.
