Youth sector bodies in merger talks

Two umbrella bodies in the voluntary youth sector are in talks over a possible merger.

Ambition (originally National Association of Boys’ Clubs) and the National Council of Voluntary Youth Services are discussing merger opportunities, following a series of consultation events which highlighted a need to explore cross sector alliances and the ability to articulate a strong, shared vision for youth services.

“With a combined heritage of 170 years, both membership organisations have a long history of inspiring young people to develop and achieve. In recent years they have developed a close working relationship based on their shared commitment to strengthening local organisations so that they can provide more opportunities to young people in their communities.”
