The regulations for the National Living Wage coming in from 1st April 2016 have now been made.
The new minimum pay from 1st April 2016 will be:
- age 25 plus – £7.20 per hour (the National Living Wage)
- 21 to 25, £6.70ph
- 18 to 21 years, £5.30ph
- under 18 £3.87ph
- apprentices £3.30ph
Even our immediate source, Daniel Barnett’s Employment Law Bulletin, points out that this “is nothing more than a tweak to the minimum wage regulations”. Link to The National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Regulations 2016 (pdf, 37KB).
