Key findings from NI sector workforce survey

Northern Ireland’s umbrella body NICVA has published the results of its fifth Workforce Survey, for 2014. The study explores salaries, recruitment, pensions, benefits and retention in the voluntary and community sector workforce.

Top line findings from the survey are in an infographic and summary article attached to NICVA’s news item, with fuller details to appear in the State of the Sector 7 report in 2016.

A few example statistics:

  • Despite representing 75% of the workforce, just 44% of Chief Executive roles were held by females.
  • Close to three-quarters of Director and Senior Function Head roles were held by females.
  • 69% of staff were employed on permanent contracts, with just 4% on zero hour contracts.
