Can the “small Gift Aid” scheme be improved?

HM Revenue and Customs has launched its call for evidence on how the Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme (GASDS) is operating. This was trailed in the Chancellor’s 2015 Autumn Statement.

“The aim of this call for evidence is to seek information and evidence-based views about how the government can ensure that the Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme meets the intended policy objectives, whilst reducing the administrative burden for charities, and ensuring fairness for charities structured in different ways.”

See article on Civil Society News, or go direct to the HMRC consultation page. Deadline 2nd March.

Inform the sector input

Charity Finance Group also wants to hear from charities about their experience with GASDS, so that they will “be better able to influence the government during this review”.  CFG is running a survey in partnership with NCVO and the Institute of Fundraising, and completing it also gives a chance to get a place at CFG’s Gift Aid Conference in February.

See CFG background article or go direct to the survey – responses by 31st January.
