Public trust and charity reporting in N Ireland

The second quarterly newsletter from the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland largely covers information already familiar to  regular VoluntaryNews readers.

Other items include:

Research into public trust

The newsletter states that Commission has appointed market research company Ipsos Mori to conduct research on the levels of public trust and confidence in the charity sector in Northern Ireland. Results will be made available on the CCNI website in due course.

International Charity Regulators Meeting

This week (24th to 26th November) sees CCNI jointly hosting the 2015 meeting of charity regulators.

Hosted along with the Charities Regulatory Authority of Ireland, it is happening in Belfast and Dublin, with delegates from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Scotland, England and Singapore. CCNI news item.

Charity accounting and reporting

The lead article provides a helpful overview of the current position on the charity reporting regulations coming in from 2016, but nothing substantially new.

The regulations will launch on 1st January 2016, and are currently being finalised by the Department for Social Development following a consultation.

Draft guidance, covering all aspects of the regulations, will be published soon on the Commission’s website.
