Fundraising reforms – Scotland and small charities

A quick couple of recent news and views on the fundraising regulation changes.

The Institute of Fundraising and the Small Charities Coalition have announced that they will work together to engage smaller charities on the fundraising reforms. They want to feed the ideas, concerns and recommendations of such organisations into the establishment of the new Charity Fundraising Regulator and Fundraising Preference Service proposals. Further details will follow soon – the IoF news item also gives an email address to register interest.

Push for separate regulation in Scotland

The director of public affairs at Scottish umbrella body SCVO has written ‘Don’t let the UK Government steal this opportunity for our sector‘.

Support for a separate system of regulation has come from both the Scottish government and Scottish charity regulator OSCR. Civil Society News has a little more on this.
