Charities challenged on trust levels

After the glut of recent, heavy media coverage on charities, the latest round of research on trust in charities and other public institutions shows the effect. Carried out by sector researchers nfpSynergy, see their article ‘Trust in charities falls again‘, or Civil Society News coverage, which leads with “Trust in charities is at its lowest point since 2007, with charities now less trusted than supermarkets”.

Your editor isn’t a fan of Management Today magazine, but their article ‘Why we’ve lost faith in charities‘ is worth a read, if only for the Martin Rowson cartoons.

“With the third sector under fire for aggressive fundraising methods, high executive salaries and misusing donor data, it needs to put its house in order to regain the public’s trust.”
