Consultation on NI charity accounting and reporting

Draft regulations covering charity accounting and reporting in Northern Ireland are out for consultation. Issued by the Department for Social Development under the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008, it is proposed that the regulations will apply to financial years starting on or after 1st January 2016.

Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations will affect all charities registered in Northern Ireland.

UPDATE: NICVA have now produced a briefing on the proposed new rules, and is urging “all charities, especially those that fall below or in and around the £100,000 to £250,000 income bracket, to read our briefing paper on this consultation and  to respond to the consultation.”
