Parliamentary electronic petitions

A new website has been launched by the House of Commons and the government which will allow members of the public to petition the House of Commons electronically for the first time.

Any British citizen or UK resident will be able to start or sign a petition, raising concerns about issues that either the government or the Commons are responsible for. The government promises to respond if a petition gets 10,000 signatures, and will be considered for parliamentary debate if it gets 100,000.
