Issues for the sector on health commissioning

A new survey asks ‘Is the NHS Standard Contract a barrier to commissioning voluntary organisations?’.  To address this issue, the idea of a shorter version of the NHS Standard Contract for low-value contracts is being explored. Regional Voices, working with NHS England, is carrying out a survey to help understand specific issues which organisations have experienced in using the Standard Contract. The survey closes 10am, 27th July. See Regional Voices website.

Another health commissioning survey highlighted recently by Regional Voices, but closing this Friday (3rd July), is one from a research team led by Durham University, in collaboration with VONNE and the Universities of York and Coventry. They want to hear from those in governance positions of organisations in health promotion and prevention of ill health, on the impact of changes  since public health responsibilities were transferred to local government in April 2013, and how organisations are being involved.
