Digital activism – dangerous or helpful?

The Guardian has a thought-provoking piece on digital activism ‘The rise of the digital saviour: can Facebook likes change the world?‘.

The article asks “does technology really amplify our humanity or is it all meaningless clicktivism?”. The comments are also worth a read, with contributions from the author of a quoted book ‘Digital Humanitarians: How Big Data is Changing the Face of Humanitarian Response’, who disputes the interpretation given to his work.
