The new government minister responsible for charity tax issues, Exchequer Secretary Damien Hinds, has said that changes to simplify Gift Aid declarations should be announced soon.
Speaking at the Charity Tax Group annual conference, he also said that there will be a call for evidence on simplifying rules around donor benefits, and work on giving intermediaries a greater role in how Gift Aid is administered. The government will “informally consult on draft regulations over summer,” before introducing changes in April 2016.
