Survey of N Ireland charity governance

Management committee members of voluntary organisations, charity trustees etc. in Northern Ireland are being asked to complete a survey on governance in the voluntary and community sector.

The last major study on this was undertaken in 2003, finding that some 33,000 volunteers were involved as management committee members.

From NICVA news:

Given the changes in various regulations, the establishment of the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland and the many challenges facing organisations across the Sector, it is timely to undertake a comprehensive research project that involves asking the views of those ultimately in charge.

The research will be used to inform the sector, funders, policy makers and the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland regarding governance issues that relate to the current and future sustainability of the sector.

The survey closes on Friday 5th June. A second strand, for sector employees, will be launched next week.
