Charities and political campaigns

A new blog ‘Charities and Campaigning for a Better World‘ focuses on sharing ideas about the history and importance of campaigning by charities and other voluntary organisations. “This history has shaped our democracy and does not belong to any one political party or tendency. Let us remember and celebrate it.”

The blog author Andrew Purkis has been a Charity Commission board member and a trustee, chair and CEO for various charities.

Stephen Bubb, CEO of the body for charity chief executives, quotes both Purkis and solicitor Rosamund McCarthy in his latest blog piece ‘Noisy leaders and the election‘, on the challenge of getting the third sector heard.
