Using a ‘data lab’ to help people into work

The Department of Work and Pensions has made a commitment to pilot an Employment Data Lab which will allow charities and other organisations to assess the impact of their interventions and programmes for helping people into employment.

Sector think tank NPC has welcomed the announcement as part of a “data revolution”, which comes 24 months after the successful roll-out of the NPC-designed data lab at the Ministry of Justice. NPC is supporting the development of further Data Labs in health, substance misuse and education.
