New resource sites for community and youth action

Recently launched by Locality, the network of community-led organisations, MyCommunity is a resource website to help communities to “take control over their Land & Buildings, Local Services, Neighbourhood Planning and Local Economy through Community Rights, grants, expert advice and networking”.

There’s some more background in the first blog from Locality’s chief exec ‘Be the change with help from My Community’, http://mycommunity.org.uk/newsevents/be-the-change-with-help-from-my-community/.

Previously mentioned on VoluntaryNews in October, and just added to our Community Group Resources page on VolResource – which now includes social action resources more clearly in its brief – is the Action Squad Academy. Created by National Council for Voluntary Youth Services, this is an online resource bank providing opportunities for young people to be engaged in social action, and to act as a hub for resources and opportunities for the voluntary youth sector. The submission of more resources and opportunities for is encouraged by the site.
