Government response on extra powers for Charity Commission

The government has published its response to the parliamentary committee studying the Draft Protection of Charities Bill – if it becomes law, this would give more powers to the Charity Commission. The government agreed with most of the Committee’s recommendations, but rejected a call for greater safeguards around statutory warnings to charities.
