Banking services and charities in high risk areas

Charity Finance Group is the latest organisation to report on the problems created by banks becoming more risk averse, with charities losing services due to “disproportionate actions”.

Civil Society News has the article ‘Charities must be more proactive with banks and improve relationships to avoid de-risking, says CFG’.

CFG’s ‘Briefing: Impact of banks de-risking on Not for Profit Organisations’ can be downloaded (pdf 524KB) via http://www.cfg.org.uk/Policy/banking/bank-de-risking.aspx. Or see CFG news item.

This is the third news item this year dealing with banks risk reduction in connection with charity accounts. See Counter-terrorism impacts charity banking (January) and Proportionality needed on aid and counter-terrorism (early March).
