Assessing the impact of cuts on communities

A new research report from Joseph Rowntree Foundation is ‘The cost of the cuts: the impact on local government and poorer communities’. It “provides the most up-to-date national picture of the scale, nature and distribution of the cuts to council budgets currently available” and uses four case study councils to assess the impact, including on the voluntary sector.

Recommendations for the future include boosting the capacity of the voluntary and community sector. Summary or full report available via http://www.jrf.org.uk/publications/cost-cuts-impact-local-government-and-poorer-communities
