Reinvigorating public policy work with N Ireland’s sector

Northern Ireland’s sector body NICVA wants to reinvigorate how the voluntary and community sector engages in policy work and how members engage with it on policy issues, particularly with the 2016 NI elections in sight.

Their policy forums will become new Departmental Monitoring Groups, open to all NICVA members (http://www.nicva.org/article/policy-fora-get-make-over). They will also be running ‘Policy Hacks, which will “borrow the techniques and ethos of the tech sector” and bring people together to share ideas and develop solutions to some of Northern Ireland’s most pressing social, economic and environmental problems. The first Hack on 13th March will focus on in work poverty, http://www.nicva.org/article/hacking-our-way-better-outcomes.
