Low quality applications slow NI charity register

The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland has estimated that it will take three years before all existing charities are assessed for registration. A little under a thousand charities have been processed on to the register since compulsory registration started in December 2013, with the quality of applications lower, and slower progress, than expected.
