Charity Commission chair re-appointed early

William Shawcross has been re-appointed by the government as Chair of the Charity Commission, nine months before his existing term of office expired. His role has been expanded from 2 to 3 days per week, but at the same pay.

Charity chief executives body ACEVO has expressed concern at the process of making an early appointment before the general election. See the letter published at https://www.acevo.org.uk/jeremy-heywood-letter or Civil Society News item.
