Managers and employee performance

Personnel professionals body CIPD has published a report based on a survey of how line manager behaviour impacts high-performance working practices. Voluntary sector employees reported the largest gap between their satisfaction with the time and quality of briefings with their supervisor.

CIPD has pulled out the general observation that “Not having a performance review is better for employees’ motivation and job satisfaction than having a poor performance review experience, even when they get a pay rise”.
