Analysis of polling data from October finds that over half of UKIP supporters have little or no trust in UK charities, much higher than mainstream party supporters.
An online survey was carried out in mid-October 2014 for NPC by Ipsos MORI. A resulting short briefing paper Charities, voters & trust argues that the low trust levels may have serious implications for charities and politicians alike. “As charities look to attract funding in the face of sustained scepticism, and the government tries to articulate a future for civil society in the age of austerity, there is serious work ahead to engage alienated voters and cultivate those who remain sympathetic.”
