Changing the threshold for charity audit

Recommendations from the Hodgson review of the Charities Act, to increase the financial thresholds above which charities must have their accounts audited rather than independently examined, are out for consultation. It is estimated that the changes would make up to 4,000 charities exempt from audit.

At Gov.uk, respond by 27th January.

UPDATE: The results from the consultation – threshold rises from 31st March.
