Charity chief executives body ACEVO has set up a commission to look at how charity regulation could be improved. This will assess whether the Charity Commission is fit-for-purpose, what changes could be made to improve the regulatory framework and remove red tape, and whether the sector as a whole is over regulated. It will also examine international comparisons.
The Commission on Regulating a 21st Century Social Sector is chaired by Lord Low of Dalston, a former chair of sight-loss charity RNIB.
