NI’s social policy magazine returns, looking at public trust

Northern Ireland’s sector body NICVA has relaunched its Scope magazine online, as “a place for informed social policy debate, a place to generate and air ideas, views and critiques”, http://scopeni.nicva.org/article/why-we-are-bringing-scope-back-life.

One of its first articles is ‘Charities: how the public rate us’, based on a new survey carried out by MORI on behalf of NICVA. Despite the conclusion that people in Northern Ireland do not understand how charities are funded nor how they are run,

“Just under 90 per cent of the population believe (charities) play an important role in society and three quarters of people either have a great deal or a fair amount of trust in them”.
