Changes to non-party campaigner guidance

The Electoral Commission has made some minor updates (dated 29th August) to its ‘non-party campaigner guidance’ for the new lobbying law to reflect stakeholder feedback.

See http://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/party-or-campaigner/non-party-campaigners or the list of changes (pdf, 16KB).

UPDATE NAVCA states that these changes are more than minor: “They have clarified that a non-party organisation will have to have done something for a reasonable person to think your campaigning is intended to influence an election – not just that you are campaigning on an issue that is politically contentious.”
