Campaigns, trustees and effectiveness

A new report from NPC argues that the sector needs to do more in measuring the effectiveness of its campaigning. An article on Civil Society Media, where the author claims that “some major voices in the sector have ducked the challenge completely”, has drawn strong responses, http://www.civilsociety.co.uk/governance/news/content/18094/. ‘Closing in on change: Measuring the effectiveness of your campaign’ is at http://www.thinknpc.org/publications/closing-in-on-change/.

New Philanthropy Capital has also published ‘Campaigning for social change: the role of trustees‘, a briefing paper for trustees following a seminar on the subject.

In light of the new Charities Minister’s recent comments that charities should “stick to their knitting” and stay out of the “realm of politics”, NPC reproduces a recent piece written for Spears Magazine, ‘Speaking truth to power’, http://www.thinknpc.org/blog/speaking-truth-to-power/. Much other sector commentary and social media is available!
