Third Force News reports on a European court judgement which means that routinely earned extra money, such as sleepover payments, should be included when calculating holiday pay. In many cases holiday pay has been based on basic earnings instead.
They quote Unison’s Scottish regional secretary as saying that they “are aware how many third sector organisations are run on very tight budgets. Unison will be working constructively with organisations to ensure our members receive their entitlements, but also to fix things going forward so that voluntary sector organisations are able to meet their obligations.”
