Community Work Placements prompts Keep Volunteering Voluntary campaign

A “Keep Volunteering Voluntary” campaign has been launched in response to the government’s Community Work Placements, part of the Help to Work scheme, which started on Monday (28th April).

The campaign website is at, Unite the union, which is supporting the campaign, has a piece. NCVO has a short statement on the placements scheme, and suggests that charities consider carefully whether to be involved.

Those signed up to the campaign already include Oxfam, Children England, NAVCA, SCVO, Shelter Cymru. Our CharityNew section has an item from National Coalition for Independent Action calling for more signatories.
