A new article on the Voluntary Action History Society website outlines some of the key themes and arguments from the recently published book ‘Philanthropy and Voluntary Action in the First World War: Mobilizing Charity’. Written by the author, a Senior Fellow at City University London, he argues for a different understanding of voluntary action in the war period.
