Some judicial review proposals dropped

The Ministry of Justice has dropped plans to introduce a tougher test for which organisations, including charities, can bring judicial review proceedings on behalf of individuals.

This has been welcomed by the sector, for example see news item from chief executives body ACEVO http://www.acevo.org.uk/judicial-review-06/02/14. However, there are still concerns – NAVCA, the local sector support body, says it will be more difficult for small charities to be involved, by putting in additional financial and procedural hurdles.
