The UK’s first Local Impact Fund has been launched in Liverpool to pilot “business support and simple finance to local charities and social enterprises”. It has been developed by the Social Investment Business to attract funds from the EU, national and local investors, to be used on stimulating a local social enterprise economy. A second pilot fund is planned to launch this summer in Northamptonshire in partnership with the University of Northampton, with others expected to follow. SIB news item.
