Initial guidance on lobbying law practicalities

The various UK charity regulators have said that they will be working with the Electoral Commission to update guidance for charities around elections and referendums, to explain the changes introduced by the Transparency of Lobbying, Non-party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Bill 2013-14 (The Lobbying Act). The law has now received Royal Assent.

The Electoral Commission is urging campaigners to sign up for its updates. It has already issued its first “update for non-party campaigners”, which contains a summary of its role, a summary of the changes to the rules, and where to find more information, in pdf, 88KB.
